THE LOOK OF LEBANON
Inspired by the wooden lattices of Lebanon, I built a set of privacy frames for our front door. To get excited about the project, I decided to do all the work using exclusively hand tools.
I produced a number of specialty jigs to make cutting and shaping each piece as accurate as possible. The nearly 100 pieces of wood all slot together and hold tightly without any glue or mechanical fasteners.
Each panel is covered with a beautiful shoji paper, the same material and technique used in traditional Japanese windows and room dividers.
