I first made 10 sets of these coasters in 2015 as part of the Wisper Design collection. The angular, geometric base and minimalist brass coasters was a look that I immediately liked. They sold out instantly. 

 

So I set about on a different mission - to make 100 sets of them. At the time, that was the largest quantity of any product I’d ever made. As it turns out, 400 brass coasters weigh about 80kgs. 

 

To manufacture them, I produced two custom woodworking jigs. These allowed me to efficiently shape the bases and ensure consistency.

 

The design, to this day, remains one of my favourites, and I suspect that I’ve given more coasters as gifts than any other product I’ve made.
